As entrepreneurial Muslims and leaders of the ummah, we often face hardships in our lives - and why wouldn’t we when we’re on some of the greatest missions to positively impact the WORLD?
Here are some of the top reasons why we are tested with the hardest battles:
======= ALLAH LOVES YOU=======
The prophets of Allah, peace be upon them all, were on a huge mission to spread the message of tawheed: to worship Allah alone. They were tested by being tortured, jailed and even eaten up by a whale! This was because Allah LOVED them.
“Great reward comes with great trials. When Allah loves a person, He tests them, and whoever accepts it attains His pleasure, and whoever shows discontent with it incurs His wrath.” [at-Tirmidhi: Sahih]
>>> Realise that Allah loves you and wants to reward you with something much greater.
======= REMOVAL OF SINS=======
Allah tests us to purify us from our sins and give us a greater reward.
“Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning” [al-Qur’an 39:10]
“A servant continues to be tested until he walks the Earth without a single sin on him.” [at-Tirmidhi: Sahih]
>>> Accept the test: be grateful to Allah for His blessings and be patient upon the hardship.
===== DISTINGUISH THE BEST =====
Allah puts all His slaves through tests to distinguish the patient ones from the impatient ones, the grateful ones from the ungrateful ones, and to reward them accordingly.
“(Allah is) The One Who has created death and life in order to test you and see which of you is best in deed, and He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving.” [al-Qur’an 67:2]
>>> Aim to pass the test with flying colours so that you can gain the greatest rewards.
As entrepreneurs, we will certainly be tested in different ways. Our job is to believe in ourselves, remain patient and focus on making an impact on the world.
